- Encouraging everyone (Band and Parents) to send feedback on the Camp Experience
New Business:
Drum Rack - Beverly Hockenberger proposed that we approve up to $1500 for a drum rack to be used in this year's show. Peter Albrecht and Tom Hauschild have identified a suitable rack and a supplier ready to sell it to us.
Motion by Julie Oliver to approve the purchase, seconded by Lynn Condreay, approved by voice vote.
"Feed the Band" - Liz Scott described how we would continue last year's program to provide a Friday evening meal to the band so that they could stay at Enloe from end of school till game time. August 25 we will have pizza. Anyone interested in contributing please contact Liz.
- This program has worked really well, the Band finds it is best to just stay put at school and enjoy the time together
- Your contributions will be tax deductible.
Dreamweaver - (Web Authoring Software). David Hockenberger has been using a free trial version of this software to bring us the Band Camp Web Site from Western Carolina. The software has worked very well, but the free trial is expiring. He is asking that we approve the purchase of a copy for the Band Boosters to use. It would cost no more than $500.
Discussion:
- Is this something the school uses, and may have a license for already? (David to contact Penny Vagle)
- Are there less expensive packages that could work? (Unsure, but this package works very well)
After discussion, Julie Oliver motioned that David purchase a copy if he cannot secure a copy from the Wake County school system, for no more than $500. Kathy Ziminsky seconded, approved by voice vote.
With no other business, we adjourned and proceeded outside for the show portion of the evening, which was interrupted by rain. We came back in, where Mr. Hunter gave a complete description of the 2006 Show - "Ritual".
After that, we were able to go out, and see the Band perform the show in it entirety, as darkness fell over the stadium field.
Next meeting date: September 21, 7:00 p.m. Enloe High School Band Room
